Custom Brand Design

Stunning brands that inspire your audience.

This service is the essential fit for committed business owners who are keen to take their business to the next level. I believe in setting you up with everything you need to get off the ground—that means crafting the full package to fit every situation to truly represent the quality of your offerings and the heart of your business.

We kickstart the process by exploring your brand strategy during our two-hour strategy call. We’ll be diving deep into the why of your business, your target audience, exploring your competition and finding out what sets you apart. This knowledge creates a strong foundation to develop your brand visuals.
Custom service
This service is fully customized with your business at the centre. You’ll receive a Brand Guideline, a unique colour palette and font system, main logo with submarks and two collateral items (ie. business card, social media assets or letterhead) to ensure your brand is translating consistently on multiple platforms.

Timeline and Investment varies with scope.

Onboarding process

01
Establish that we are a good match
Check out the Working Together page to see if we will be a good match. We will work well together if you are committed to the process, excited about your business and are able to put your trust in me by giving me creative freedom according to your vision.
02
Discovery call
During our initial call my aim is to learn more about you and your business, what services your business would benefit from and what timeline will work for both of us. I will use this information to prepare your proposal
03
Booking
Once we’ve formed the initial connection and agreed on a start date, I will send you a proposal for your approval, you’ll receive your contract, followed by an invoice for the 50% retainer. The non-refundable retainer is due before any work begins and is required to secure your spot in my calendar.
Brand Elements

Moodboard

Before I get started on any design work, I will create a moodboard. This document summarises everything you've shared with me, and makes sure we are visually aligned in your brand's new direction.
Brand Elements

Typography

Keeping things legible is incredibly important. If your content (on your website or printed) isn't easily readable, you'll lose your audience before they even had a chance to learn about your product.
Brand Elements

Colors

We're visual people! A well-researched, intentionally chosen color palette will help you connect with your target audience and build trust.
Brand Elements

Logos

This consists of your primary, secondary logo and one or two submarks.
Brand Elements

Style Guide

A super handy document that you can refer back to whenever you need. It's also a great idea to share it with the rest of your team, so everyone is using your new brand consistently.

Branding Terminology

Brand Inquiry
Before starting the design we develop a strategy to ensure the long-term success of your brand. We will identify your audience and create a foundation for the work to come. Together we’ll explore your competition and develop a creative direction to set you apart and make your business stand out.
Primary and secondary logo
At the heart of any successful brand are the primary and secondary logo. Together, they tell the most complete story of your brand. This is typically a combination of type and an icon.
Logo, submarks and variations
Your new logo is only one part of the bigger picture of your new brand. The brand package includes the option for custom patterning or illustrations to allow you to add a touch of branding to everything without wearing out your primary logo.
Brand Guidelines
Also called: style guide, brand book. When your brand design is finalized, you’ll receive an organized folder that houses all your brand assets. This also includes your visual style guide—a document that captures all of our work. Use this as a reference point that demonstrates best practices on using your custom colour palette and font hierarchy, making it easy to apply your new brand across all platforms.

Money

Do you offer payment plans?
All projects require a 50% retainer payment at the time of booking, with the remaining 50% due before website or brand launch. If you would like the payment plan to be different please reach out to me and we can work something out!
Why do I have to pay a retainer?
I book projects a few months in advance. Paying a retainer, along with signing your contract before the start date guarantees your spot in my calendar. This way I know when we’ll be working together and I am able to dedicate my time and attention to your project. This also gives you a little bit of time to finalize your content for your new website or brand.
Do I need to book in advance?
Yes! I’m never able to start a project with less than 2 weeks notice, I’m usually fully booked one month in prior to any start date.
Why don't you list prices on your website?
The final project cost varies greatly based on the scope and deliverables. I have found that listing prices greatly sets the wrong expectations. I understand that many folks simply don't know how much design costs. To give you an idea: it’s rare – but not impossible – for brand projects to cost less than $4000 based on time and effort. Projects for social good may be eligible for a discounted rate.

Process & Content

Do I need to have my content and images ready before the project starts?
Absolutely! You must have all content ready to go before our project start date. Failure to deliver your content on time will result in a rescheduling fee and a delayed start date.
What happens if I don't have my content ready to go?
Once you’ve paid your deposit to book your spot but then fail to complete your project homework or aren’t able to deliver the website content to me, your start date will be pushed to my next available spot. You will also be required to pay a 50% rescheduling fee and will lose your initial deposit.
Can you work faster?
Maybe. There are some projects that can have a faster turn-around time, if both you and me work together closely and follow a very tight schedule. If you require a rushed project please get in touch with me so we can see what’s possible. Please note for rushed projects there will likely be a rush fee added to your invoice.
